Tacoma Sunrise Rotary: Statement on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

Tacoma Sunrise Rotary strives to build a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change. We value diversity and celebrate the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
Please support our Virtual Online Giving Event!

Last year, we were able to raise about $25,000 through our first-ever virtual auction. These funds helped us  make a difference throughout our community and the world. These funds helped us:

  • Continue to support to Palmer Scholars to provide up to $5,000 scholarships/year for our five current scholars. We have committed to $30,000 in scholarship support for 2021-2022.

  • Continue our partnership with Stewart Middle School--helping students stay engaged while learning online, providing laptop computers, holiday food boxes and weekly pizzas to keep them attending despite hardships.

  • Work to secure more education technology tools for students in Namibia.

  • Give the Emergency Food Network a $2,000 grant and did a Rotary Team Repack of rice for 2,100 meals.

  • Purchase 70,000 face masks for low-income residents of Pierce County.

Throughout April we are again having an online auction--Virtual Oceans of Giving Event (VOGE!). Our goal is to raise $25,000 to continue to support these causes.
